We recognize nature’s therapeutic power and harness it in our Wilderness Wellness program. This program melds the rejuvenating properties of unstructured playtime in nature with thoughtful interactions, using nature as our guide. We strive to create a safe, immersive environment where participants can deepen their intuitive connection with nature, themselves, and their families. Outcomes of this immersion can lead to heightened sensory awareness and a newfound appreciation for nature and each other.
At the core of our approach is mindfulness, an undistracted awareness of sensory experiences and thoughts. This practice helps foster deeper understanding and freedom of choice, and studies have increasingly found it to be a potent tool for transforming negative behaviors, managing tough emotions, and alleviating suffering.
Our programs cater to children and adults alike, promoting exploration and appreciation of the natural world. We provide hands-on experiences designed to build comfort and familiarity with outdoor settings, nurturing lifelong skills that our participants can carry forward into their lives. These programs aim to combat the phenomenon known as Nature Deficit Disorder.
By facilitating an ongoing exploration of natural and cultural history, we empower participants to build a deeper understanding of the world around them. This understanding fosters a profound connection with nature and the community. It is our belief, grounded in intuitive understanding and field observation, that individuals learn most effectively when they are having fun, connected to nature, grounded, and physically active.
We offer a range of activities, including: Earthing, Chi Gong, Nature Yoga, Fox Walking, Energy Medicine, Stone Balancing, Nature Listening, Zen Archery, Interpretive Nature Hikes, Natural Movement Exercises, Animal Tracking & Observation, Tree Climbing and Sky Swinging, and Native American Skills, Crafts & Lore. We also incorporate quiet, meditative periods to balance the active exercises.
